How to get a custom graphics driver

A graphics driver is the software that lets games draw on your device's graphics chip (GPU). Every device comes with one. This site calls it the stock driver.

A custom driver is a different one, built by the community. Turnip is for Adreno graphics chips. PanVK is for Mali graphics chips. An app loads a custom driver for its own use. The stock driver stays on your device and every other app keeps using it.

How a custom driver is loaded

  1. Download the driver. It is one ZIP file. Do not unpack it.
  2. Open an emulator or game launcher that can load custom drivers, find its graphics driver setting, and choose the ZIP file.
  3. To check the driver before you play, open the FauxVkTest app, go to Drivers, and tap "Add a driver from a ZIP file". Then run a driver check.

A custom driver can do better than the stock driver, and it can do worse. Look at its results on this site first: open your device, then the driver.

Drivers published by this site's owner

This list holds only the drivers that the owner of this site publishes. Other people publish drivers too. This site shows test results for theirs and does not link to their downloads.

Each driver is made for the chips named on its card. A driver made for one chip does not work on another.
